Cooper Vs Rodgers

Good to see Cooper and Tate doing well. Quite a track record for a young manager and a brave decision to leave for pastures new.

Wasn't a brave decision at all. He just didn't fancy staying here. What's brave about that ?

Agreed. Not having a go at Cooper, but him taking over at Forest was practically a no-lose scenario. If they do poorly and he gets sacked, he just gets added to a long list of managers who couldn't sort out Forest's problems. If they do well, he's a hero in Nottingham and probably gets offers from PL clubs.

See Bielsa and Leeds for a comparison.

Got to be fair, he's done an exceptional job there.

Absolutely, he's done brilliantly so far and well done to him. I'd be very surprised if they don't make the playoffs, which would give Cooper an amazing record in his club career so far.

The only thing I'm arguing is that it wasn't a brave decision at all. Nottingham Forest represented a great opportunity for him and there's clearly far more potential there than here. It would have been brave to stay here and try to build on last season with a markedly inferior team, but it seems clear that was something that neither he or the club wanted.

Aye, I was using your post to muse rather than respond or challenge. I agree.

At least Forest are not playing the suicide football that the Swans played when he was here.

Cooperball = Effective, Efficient Winning Football. Fact. Highly enjoyable for those that love to win.

75% of the wider populace voted for him to stay. Fact.

Cooperball 4, Martineball 1. Fact

Cooperball 4, Rodgersball 1. Fact

Some proper twps on here nowdays, fair play. Fact ?

Edit - if Martin can properly learn from watching the Cooperball and Rodgersball tapes, and manages to concoct a leading edge blend from the two winning brands, it could be exciting times. A very big if, but with the right prodding, we may have a chance..........

Proper belter you are kid

Cooper being compared to Bielsa? Up to now it's reminded me more of that first season Monk had at Leeds. Much like Forest now, dirty Leeds had been in disarray for years when he got there and for much of the season he looked like he may well take them up only to bottle it at the end. Not that I can vouch Coops will bottle it in the end, but he does have form for bottling, strange as it may seem for a man named cooper.

He's done well there, and he hasn't done it by inducing people into a coma like he did here. Seems that he has better tools for the job at Forest than he did here.

The decision to join Forest is not a particularly gripping issue. The brave decision was to leave Swansea after only two years experience in charge of a Championship club. Steve clearly backed himself and looks like he will take Forest into the play offs with Jack in midfield. Surprised he has not come in for Jay or Jan. He is certainly getting a tune out of an average squad without parachute payments. A manager who gets results for a team that has been mid table and below for years. I suspect his wage budget is in Jack C and Garner and that limits his means to get relatively highly paid pros in like Jay and Jan.

Martinball is falling away from these two legends, at a rate of knots.

Rodgersball totally outmanoeuvred and outclassed by canny Coops. Klopp clearly studied them tapes to hit another nail in Rodgersball rep.

Cooperball brand is ever more in the ascendancy. Cooper will fancy his chances now against any PL oppo.

I bet he's hoping for a return to Anfield to pit his wits and oytstanding pedigree against Klopp. He has the Liverpool way in his blood. He will be fancied to go toe to toe tactically, and with welshman Johnson in top form, could well get the result he so deserves. Fair play.

Good god you are a prize idiot. I seem to recall you stating on the other place in your former Dwight Yorke profile, just before Christmas in Cooper's first season that our points total was "unacceptable". At the time it stood at two points a gaime, which, if you knew half as much about the Championship as you know about your beloved Man Yoo, is almost a shoe in for automatic promotion if you can sustain it for the season.

Now, Cooper's side could beat anyone in the Premier League because they've won a cup game against a Leicester who are this season a shadow of what they've been since Brenda has taken over. Does that mean that Borehamwood would storm the Championship? What about the time we would have beaten Man City if it wasn't for the ref?

You're talking absolute bollocks and need to have your deluded, crazy head tested fella.
