It’s no coincidence that since they signed Grimes, they’ve gone up another level. Not saying he’s been the main difference but there must be something in it. I was a harsh critic of him down here. We’re now starting to see our current midfielders do what he was doing. Maybe it’s ingrained in the ‘system’ we try to adopt here that reins them in.
Well you should be pissed off that he didn’t play anything like that here. He couldn’t be arsed

Sidewinder Grimes joins a team who were already excellent and much better than us over several seasons, and they get a bit better, and all of a sudden we should never have got rid, what a mistake it was.

Beam me up, Captain Hindsight. Jesus Christ.
A million percent with bells and tassels all over

Maybe Frank knows a bit about midfield players and has Grimes playing a bit differently to our managers over the years? He made him captain so must see him as an important cog in their machine.
I haven't watched them so I don't know.

Absolutely am. You know there was a good player in there sometime. He was decent under Potter. Maybe he became indispensable after getting the captaincy.
What I’m saying is that Grimes was guilty of sideways and backwards passing, but other than Galbraith and O’Brien last season I think the midfield of this are just as guilty as Grimes in terms of the direction of pass.

Coventry have the momentum we had in 2007-11 where the fates align.

Lampard is a decent coach and blessed with, inherited, a decent side, philosophy and backing.

He's no slouch but also they've been knocking on the door for a while now...

Credit where due of course
