• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Credit to Duff for the changes and for turning it around

The life of a football manager is not an easy one.   Your stock is generally only as good as maybe your last half a dozen results and you live quite often on the edge of the demands of the fans to make changes at the earliest sign of a poor run of form. Just three short weeks ago it looked for all...

"there are no disgruntled players who disagree with the training routines and there are no tantrums which have been evident under previous management regimes"

As some people said at the time; if one player is a bad egg then one player is a bad egg. When you're up to three or four of them then the issue obviously lies elsewhere. If you were one of Russy's boys then he loved you. If you weren't, then he'd do what he could to make it look like you were the problem.

Certainly deserves credit.
Shown his adaptability, resilience and strength.

Always said, you have to give credit as well as your disapproval. After a tough start, he is doing OK and has deservedly gets a chance to carry on building.

No unrealistic expectations, a solid season in and around 12th will give him a solid platform to build from.

Question is, is that prior to the change that even Duff said 3 weeks ago in regards to they will start training with the ball more?

Is that comment about recent weeks training or about the training for a whole(since his first session).

A group of 25/30 men will not always be a bed of roses, there will almost be disgruntled staff making noises.....as little as a player or players thinking they deserve more of a chance or being in the starting 11.
When teams win, things are rosey......when teams lose then all sorts come out, neither tends to be 100%.

Don't think blaming Martin from here on can be justified.
Last Saturday we started only 3 regulars plus Paterson from his regime.
MD looks to have turned a corner most of us believed he couldn't after such an awful start.
So yes he deserves massive credit.
Dai iawn Michael.

Good post and highlighting facts.

I'm pro duff
Good management, when things are going wrong, take into account the workers' opinions.
I think the fella has a bit about him. I was petrified at first about another ego manager forcing square pegs, but I'm coming evangelical recently.
Don't underestimate the grown-up Ness of asking your employees what they think
