Quite watchable but a bit underwhelming in the end.
And the determination of KH's character to be 'fair and proportionate' to the pseudo terrorists had me sceaming at the telly and laughing at the same time.
I've already commented on the 'police warning' she gave to the young lad instead of blowing him away as he was taking aim at her daughter in episode one.
At the start of episode three, she's waiting outside the door on the roof, rifle raised, with her daughter on the ground helpless next to her, when the same young lad bursts through the door, pistol in hand. Instead of using the element of surprise to give him both barrels in the mush, she again decides to have a Mexican stand off chat with him about putting the gun down. Plu-ease! What's the point?
And then, when she's pursuing the inside man down some gully on the edge of town, again with rifle pointed, her mate Ben comes round the corner behind the criminal. She shouts at Ben to stay back and get out of the way, so of course he instead comes forward with puzzled look on the face (D'oh!). The crim turns towards Ben with knife in hand, at which point KH could have disabled him with a shot to the legs. Instead she does nothing, which results in Ben getting stabbed and dying. So bluddy infuriating, and obviously a script device to crank up the emotional drama of the 'when it was all over' scenes.
Oh well, let's hope the next effort is better.
