• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Can't remember this reaction to Brazil hosting the Olympics and World Cup!

I have worked in construction, including in Qatar for the Qataris.
The sites are run by international firms with good WHSE systems.
I have no stats on deaths, but I will say there was an accident with fatalities on one of mine.
I imagine a lot more still goes unreported.
Becks would have been better to walk away in my opinion.
Stick to the aftershave,
No World Cup needs a face.

Does the world cup belong to christian / catholic countries only?

Some of the people i see moaning about this, are quick enough to have "banter" about misogyny / homophobia / Muslims etc. Same ones who are suddenly human rights activists since the Geordie takeover.

Nowt as queer as folk as they say.

It belongs in a country where everyone is welcome.
That should be the only criteria.

Not sure that country exists, it’s certainly not here.

Don’t be so ridiculous.
Try walking down the main street in Cardiff holding hands with your boyfriend then try it in Doha.
What the f*ck is wrong with people on here?

Wind you neck in Teabag. Summin wrong with you if you think this is a welcoming country, and just because another country is worse isn’t an excuse. Whataboutery and nincompoopery from you.

Whatever the reactions of the large number of neanderthals among our population when faced with the terrifying site of two men holding hands, our country is officially welcoming to and tolerant of LGBTQ+ people, while Qatar is absolutely not. I would have thought that's a pretty big difference.

Yes this country is far more welcoming than many others and don’t take it out on my because Barca gave you the bullet.

I didn’t say it was as bad as anywhere else, did I, Jimmy?

Let's be clear on this, Beckham has done this purely out of greed, any charitable work he's done, whether it be for UNICEF or any other organisation is tainted by his actions, blood money springs to mind...

Wasn't he part of that hacking thing which exposed that his charity stuff was part of some lobbying campaign to get a knighthood?
