Diagnosis, Lazy...

This reminds me of the tragic case of the 10 year old lad Robbie Powell from Ystradgynlais who died from this condition back in 1990. His condition was missed by several doctors in the weeks before he passed. There was a prolonged campaign for justice by his parents, after 22 years they received a public apology from the then first minister Carwyn Jones.

I caught glandular fever from a girlfriend when I was fifteen. There was a three week period where I slept for about 18 hours a day, basically only getting up to see her, have a bath and to eat and drink something. Prior to my diagnosis my parents just labelled me as lazy as I was progressively spending longer in bed, then the sore throats started and it went from there.
