Likely nothing but gilot a few people putting 2&2 together, will it come out as 4 or 444!? 🤣

It made no difference. Do you seriously think that, knowing he had bad ankles, he'd have kept doing it if it was making the situation worse? Do you think that the club medical staff might not have had a word if that was the case considering that maintaining his ankles were already a chunk of their weekly workload? How stupid would everyone involved have had to be?

It's one of those things that is obvious nonsense but people seem to feel the need to repeat over and over again until it reaches the point where others think that it's true.

It probably didn't help that Laudrup failed to properly manage his workload in the second season. We had Bony fit and available on the bench yet Michu mostly started in the early periods. He was run into the ground. Would only have prolonged the inevitable but it might have got another season out of him.

Matos has been a hell of a find
Its not about changing the football, he seems to have changed their mindset. The Klopp influence?

I think it's very clear that a lot of Klopp has rubbed off on Matos, you can see that in how we now press high up the pitch and no longer shit out of 50/50s in midfield. In fact we now seem to relish physical contact, which is not something I've associated with a Swansea team for a long time.

None of this is rocket science mind. Work harder than the other team, and you'll get your rewards more often than not. Part of the problem with MartinWillyball was that sweat was optional most of the time, that's why they never got anywhere.

I think as well, we’ve had managers in the past who were supposed to be about pressing and working hard (Duff said it I think and Sheehan) but this is the first time since we’ve been relegated for me that we actually look like we’re playing a pressing style of play. I always say, I can get on board with a manager if I can see what the overall plan is and I can see that with Matos. We still have a Hell of a lot to work on, we’re still pretty blunt and need to be better creatively but there is at least a direction for the team to go in now.

Very true. This is probably the sort of thing Duff had in his head as what he wanted his Swansea team to look like, but he was just wholly incapable of coaching it and ended up looking very stupid.

It may not have been an inability to coach it but a lack of the charisma needed to get players to buy into what he wanted. The amount of hard work needed is huge and Duff had all the charisma of a leper
