• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

I think as well, we’ve had managers in the past who were supposed to be about pressing and working hard (Duff said it I think and Sheehan) but this is the first time since we’ve been relegated for me that we actually look like we’re playing a pressing style of play. I always say, I can get on board with a manager if I can see what the overall plan is and I can see that with Matos. We still have a Hell of a lot to work on, we’re still pretty blunt and need to be better creatively but there is at least a direction for the team to go in now.
And some of the football we're playing now is Fabukous. I think it's a bit unfair to label us just as a pressing team. We are amazing at that but I think some of the football we're playing now goes unnoticed

I think it's very clear that a lot of Klopp has rubbed off on Matos, you can see that in how we now press high up the pitch and no longer shit out of 50/50s in midfield. In fact we now seem to relish physical contact, which is not something I've associated with a Swansea team for a long time.

None of this is rocket science mind. Work harder than the other team, and you'll get your rewards more often than not. Part of the problem with MartinWillyball was that sweat was optional most of the time, that's why they never got anywhere.
It would be hard to be around Klopp and not have some of his infectious personality rub off on you as well.

Long may it continue!

Our high tempo pressing is impressive, and certainly gained us 3 pts against wba.
But to sustain that level will eventually take its toll on the players, just like it did with Leeds and Bielsa’s similar pressing style of play.
So replacements from the squad will be paramount, in the run in of a long season, especially with injuries and suspensions.

Why put another tier in the chain if its working well without it? The last few haven't worked out too well have they?
