Also, do not even contemplate going Heads Of The Valleys, especially if you’re coming back the dark - I got pushed over the mountain road from Merthyr and then at Penderyn I got pushed out to Rhigos and Glynneath, not great in the dark and wet. Stick to the M4, Newport, Monmouth route.
