• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

He's getting entertainingly grumpy about the amount of questions he's having to field on the Piroe situation.

Wouldn't want to cross the bloke.

I'm more than happy with the appointment, he doesn't seem to have completely abandoned the approach, but is trying to weed out the bad habits, that will do for me all day long.

Squad still a bit short for me so not expecting an assault on play offs unless things change from now until the window closes.

Yeah the squad is still short no doubt but I just get the feeling this guy really knows what he's doing and he will mold the squad into a formidable force, it's no more than a hunch at the moment based off hearing he speak but I hope I'm right.

Like a breath of fresh air innit.

Agree he seems to have a good approach.
It's not all about him.
He seems the type to identify a playing/personnel issue and deal with it accordingly.
Time will tell of course.

Early days, but it's so much better than constant bollocks and bullshit. He said more or less:

We like to play out but if that's all you do then teams just full court press you with no fear. First goal came from along ball AND good football.

We need three additions (not that he looked 100% confident about getting them).

I'm also assuming that there was no nonsensical fisting after beating Northampton. Hopefully that's a relic now, but beat WBA on Saturday and he can fist to his hearts content.

I don't think he will do molly coddling, he will certainly upset a few but I think you will know where you are.
I personally like a middle ground but have total respect for how I see Duff will do things off the field with media and players.

All in all, it's a good approach I feel.

There’s been plenty of work done on the squad and presumably a manager appointed to achieve a better win ratio, so other than people practicing fence sitting and playing down expectation to save egg on face we should absolutely be aiming for the playoffs at the very least and not be shy about either. What’s the point otherwise? May as well give up now if we’re going to settle for lower and lower mid table finishes every season.

Just got a good feeling about this guy, that is all.

He's had several promotions as a player or manager so should know what it takes to get a team up. As others on here have said, i like his no nonsense attitude and it's not all about me attitude unlike our last manager.
