Ebo, I feel for you mate
Is it "Rocks" ginger you are drinking?
If so it does help I can tell you from bitter experience.

Warm water with fresh ginger in 4 times a day. Also i found that if my abdomen started to ache i would chew some fresh ginger. Keeping hydrated is key and since I have been taking the tablets I have had no pain or nausea. Able to eat better foods but it is little and often rather than a big meal.

What is rocks ginger?

Well I saw the specialist yesterday and they took bloods and urine and it appears I have acute pancreatitis. Which explains the nausea and sickness as my pancreas is inflamed. The initial possible dysphagia diagnoses from my GP was not a million miles away as the symptoms of not being able to swallow / keep food down is similar.

They ruled out gall stones and cancer for now (the samples will give them an indication) as I have no fever, problems passing water and stools are clear. What I was getting was a dull ache in lower abdomen which would spread to my back. I drank ginger water to alleviate that which the specialist said was a smart thing to do as painkillers would probably make it worse.

I have lost nearly 5 stone since April due to not being able to eat much and relying on soft foods and meal replacement suppliments. I was touching 17.5 stone and now just over 13. i should be 13.5 for my heght.

So I am on a course of anti-inflammatories and have to eat small but often. No food later that 8pm just liquids and no alcohol (I am ok with that as rarely drink these days). If I get severe pain or symptoms persist then i will need to go back. Worst case scenario is that they whip my gall bladder out and sell it on the black market.

Doesn't sound like a lot of fun, mate, hope things improve at the very least to the point where you are able to deal with it without too much trouble and discomfort. Good luck buddy.

Cheers mate, it has improved the last 24 hours. I feel hungry without feeling nausea which is great. I still have to manage portions though so I had a tuna salad for lunch today which I bloody enjoyed as it was one of the first proper meals I have had in months.

I think Holland and Barrett stock it.
It worked well with many I loved and lost.

Will have a look for it mate. Raw ginger though might not be appetising to most but it works a treat for me.

Hope everything works out well for you Ebo. 🤞 Sounds unpleasant.
