An appeal to all you techy boffs, trying to upload my usual avatar but it's way over 200 pixels, have tried cropping it in paint but there's virtually nothing left of it to upload. should I save it in a different format or are there any online site that can achieve this for me.

Diolch in advance.......

Get the original and upload it here https://bulkresizephotos.com/en?resize_type=height&resize_value=600 click choose images, upload the one you want, then change width and height to 300

1. Open the built in paint app in Windows 10 (MS Paint)
2. Open the file you want to reduce
3. Click on the "File" menu option (top left, next to home and view), go to properties and make note of the current width and height of the image. Close the image properties.
4. Click on the Resize button and either reduce by a % of the original size (in step 3) or specify the dimensions in Pixels
5. Click the save icon at the top of the MS Paint window.
6. Upload.

I was uploading a new avatar a few days ago and I noticed it said max size 300x300 pixels whereas the old old site was 100x100 so I adjusted my pic to 300x300 and uploaded, hence my big avatar and it looks like others have done the same so when you say yours is way over 200 pixels, is it also over 300? If not, you should be able to upload it without difficulty. If it is, others have provided a number of methods to reduce the size of yours and any of them would be ok.

This forum layout has a slightly smaller avatar size allowed (the 300x300 ones are still there if they were already uploaded

Thanks all, sorted

I have tried the sites suggested and every one of them has failed so maybe its not to be

Same here TM, although I like my avatar I managed to crop I'd rather have a different one.

Simplest one I can find is here https://www.birme.net click on browse from your computer, find the image you want and it'll upload it. When it has you will see a box on the right with width and height, change both to 200 then click save files, that'll save it to your PC. Then on here, click on user control panel > profile > edit avatar > upload from computer. Find the image you want on your PC & click submit.

It doesn't get any simpler than that.

Easiest way I found was to download an app to my phone/tablet for re-sizeing photos.
Lite photo is the one I use.

I had the same problem Paul so I used this.

This is what I have used here and on the “old” site for avatars and photos. If I can do it anyone can. (🤞)
