Serious question by the way, what's your argument for her not being British, using more than one sentence? Or are you just winding people up ( which is going very well).

Never get into arguments about nationalities and how they should be applied - you never get people to agree.

Our Prime Minister is American technically if you take place of birth as the only aspect to consider. I'm not sure what the answer is, to be honest!

Sad act. A Welshman making comments like that when many English consider the Welsh to be 2nd/3rd class citizens or worse still, have no consideration for Welsh at all.

I’m not Welsh.
So much makes sense now. Thanks for telling me. That one fact makes me disproportionately happy for some reason.

Is the final on the telly?

Yep...it's on Amazon Prime....and I'm looking forward to it.........first qualifier ever to get to a major final...girl's amazing....she identifies as British...enough for me...

She identifies as British because she is British. Simple as that.

US Open finalist, first ever qualifier to reach a slam final in either men’s or women’s draws. Absolutely stunning achievement.

I assume she was wearing women’s draws, but you never know these days with all these thespians and metronomes about.

Just because she wears comfortable shoes and plays tennis it doesn't mean that she is a thespian.

It would if she wore dungarees and short hair though.

and the possibility of doing it all ( 10 games ) without losing a set, I said to my 8 yr old daughter that her children wont live to see that being repeated, a truly incredible feat

Looking forward to the all Canadian final tonight

Seeing as we're able to pick and choose our nationality these days, I've decided to be Canadian for the day!
