• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

I’m talking to myself here for some reason but Joe Root is now the second highest run scorer in test match history and I’m pretty sure he’ll stick around long enough to get past Sachin. Also England have twatted India off the park in this game. Far superior side my hairy arse. :sneaky:

I'll chip in to stop you talking to yourself. I'm not the most knowledgeable cricket fan in the world, but I have been bemused by the chatter through this test series that India are by far the better side and England have been hanging in there by the skin of their teeth. Glad someone else feels similar.

Also, a note for Ricky Ponting being gracious about Root overtaking his run scoring. Always came across as a total wanker when playing, but classy in the commentary booth.

Test matches are won by winning the big moments. England have won most of the bug moments in this series. So far. And also Ben Stokes is a once in a generation cricketer. Definitely England’s best ever in all rounder terms.

Thats a good article - it talks about Root still playing test cricket at 36 but we need to remember that he could easily make it to be 39 or 40 beyond that at which point you would expect Tendulkar's record to be totally out of sight

The lack of a test century in Australia though will be one he will want to lose before they return home after the winter
