I'm leaning towards the Martin out camp. I'm prob one of the most lenient on here but its so fucking poor.

We could and should have been out of sight at half time but start the second half like that - why the fuck do we keep letting in early goals?

i can take inconsistency but theres just no discernible style or idea of what we are trying to do. Its crap sideways shite with a massive gap between midfield and attack. We were inconsistent under potter but you were proud of the team even after a loss and culd see what we were doing. We would have walked the league if he hadnt have gone to Brighton.

I just dont see what we are trying to do, and some of the players here are top 10 quality minimum.

I can't see whay Russ thinks he can do for next season, as the general demeanour is we'll be a different beast come August. He's had 36 games now and there's no difference between Blackburn away and now. The individual mistakes are a joke. What the fuck was naughton doing? The bloke has been in the pro game for over 13 years.. my 10 year old would have known to clear his lines in that situation ffs not try and pass it. It's moronic shite. Don't get me started on cabongo either.

I do think we have gems in Piroe and Oba though

The thing is we are creating a lot of chances, we ain’t finishing a hell of a lot of them, which is the frustrating thing, on times I’ve really enjoyed watching us play and on other times I’ve been bored, I’ll give Martin the benefit of the doubt and bring in some signings while clearing some of the deadwood left out and see what happens then.

what will signings change though?

You won't find many better front threes than obafemi piroe and patterson - it's likely that all three will finish with double fogure goals this season

we havent got a chance of attracting anyone from City on loan any more - the twat brings in burns and never plays him but plays bennett or downes there instead ffs

i'll stick my neck out and say if he had played burns with downes instead of smith today that woud have finished 3/4-0 to us

We are making chances but due to the lack of tempo players are on their heals and not toes. Opportunities are wasted

I really want it to work for Russell Martin… he’s very likeable, and I think most of us want to see the dominating possession based football that he’s intent on playing.

In glimpses, during the Cardiff game, Fulham for 30 mins, etc we’ve seen it how it should be done… fast, fluid and with purpose… but a lot of the time it’s been slow, ponderous and laboured.

The silly mistakes at the back don’t seem to be being cut out and if anything we’re looking ponderous and laboured more of the time.

I can forgive the first 45 mins last night… it’s really difficult to play with intensity and a high tempo when the opposition literally have 11 men camped in their final 3rd (much like Blackpool did too)… but Russ needs to have a Plan B to our style which we can adopt when teams just want to shut up shop and allow no space to work in behind the final 3rd.

But when they don’t to that and press us around the pitch we turn to quivering jelly.

The conditions last night were awful but we still played some decent stuff and should have had the game buried by ht. first 10/15 mins of second half were shocking and the amount of goals we’ve gifted to the opposite this season must be unrivalled (ie. The amount of assists our players have had for the opposition team). However, we got over that and came back to win deservedly so - despite the terrible conditions and shooting ourselves in the foot.

Some people will just never be happy I suppose.

Keep the faith Eteb.

Needs another window. Desperate for genuine ball playing centre halves with a bit of pace about them. People talk up Christie and Wolf, but I'm certain we need better at wing back too, need genuine pace out wide and we just haven't got it.

First two months of next season make judgement. If we start off poorly I think he's in trouble.

Signings at the back will change quite a bit. Playing Downes in defence is killing us.

Two centre halves / two quick wing backs/ AM

Need five in and sharpish.

Edit- We should have delved into the loan market, not signing off the Giles loan signing is criminal by the Americans, he'd have been quality for us.
