Fans Forum For Able-bodied Fans ONLY

It’s not coming from anywhere I’m just saying you don’t understand the anger of not being able to go somewhere.
I still love you.
Ok, I’ll take that at face value because we’ve known each other a long time. So you’re right, for me as an individual I’ve never been in a position where I, personally, have had to not do something because of a disability. But if you think I’ve not been in a position where we’ve ruled out doing something, going somewhere or has to do something in a different way because someone who would have been with me, a family member, for example has issues that I don’t have personally then you are very, very, very wrong. So yeah you’re absolutely right to be angry about this. It’s a brainless, insulting decision to hold a forum at an inaccessible venue. You’re also right to be continually angry at the Globe for the very same reason. My point was that there are far better ways to express that anger than in the way you did to the journalist who contacted you. If I’d have been her and you’d said that to me I’d have given you a wide berth as well and found someone who could better represent the issues here.

I fully understand what you’re saying you know that I’ve spoken to you enough over the years but what’s wrong with what I said?
It’s a fact,no venue would get away with men only or white people only but they’re getting away with able bodied people only all over the UK.

“They quite rightly wouldn’t get away with excluding people because of their gender or ethnicity but it seems that some venues and/or organisations are actively excluding people with a disability and getting away with it. It’s not right and has to stop”.

Literally exactly the same point, less emotive language.

Fair enough but I’m obviously not as nice as you.

Oh and on a side note our stadium is absolutely superb I’ve been to about 70 of the 92 now and ours is the best for facilities and view etc I’ve been to and that include new (ish) places like the Emirates and Etihad.

It’s not about being nice it’s finding the best way to make your point and get the best audience for it.

Another staggering thing about this Fans Forum is that they found out a week ago that it’s able bodied people only and are still going ahead with it.
Honestly you couldn’t make it up. 🤣

So then the question needs to be asked why didn't the Trust bring this up since they actually have people who serve on the board? Another instance of how they have failed the fan base they are meant to serve
Exactly this , there was always the option to refuse to use the venue and find another one where it was suitable

The problem with the organisations are they are afraid to publically challenge the club for fear of the privileges they may lose on a matchday

As has been said by enough on here this was a badly thought through decision at best and the DSA in particular and the Trust should be making that point as loudly as they can but both seem
On the “nothing we can do “ side of things which , in the case of the one that has a shareholding and what they like to claim is a influence, is a sheer reason why their membership is at lowest numbers ever seen

And why they are so silent

It would be appropriate if nobody turned up for the event as a protest.
You would have thought that the reasons behind choosing the venue with its limited access would have been made totally clear in the initial announcement.
It’s now a week on, and I can’t believe that either, with social media, or direct communication to the Trust/Club that they don’t know that there is unrest, and disbelief that further communication is needed giving a full explanation that no alternative venue was available.
Both club and Trust say that open and honest communication to fans is paramount.
