I remember this news coming so well and the deflation I felt when he went off during the Birmingham game

One of the best midfielders ever to grace this club IMO and if it wasn't for his injuries he would have been a Premier League player

A truly sensational player - style, technique and fearless, but would he have made the grade at higher levels? Sadly, we will never know.
Many players do, Leon Briton for us is a perfect example other don't, Lee Trundle is another perfect example.
For his family and friends I'm sure just having him around is a bonus.

Cruel waste. Fantastic player, I remember his final comeback and breakdown - against Peterborough in the Championship I think, such as n awful feeling for the player.

As those who watched him play know a highly gifted player.

The nastiness will always make him a fans favourite.

Such a shame we didn't get to see if we he could have done it at the highest level.

Remember seeing him break down for the final time playing for U23's at Parc y Scarlets.
Felt gutted. ☹

Fantastic player.

But a Prem player? Never.

Not because of a lack of talent, but any time he was fouled, he was a red card waiting to happen.
Don't think any Prem manager would take a chance on likely finishing with 10 men.

Bur an absolute gem of a player. Who could forget THAT goal?

I wouldn't say 2 red cards in the first few months of his Swans career would make him an accident waiting to happen.

The first against Doncaster was a head butt, and absolutely stupid ... But he personally said he quickly learnt his lesson when Graeme Jones followed him up the tunnel and picked him up by his throat, and told him never to let the team down like that again.

The 2nd was against Leeds, which I thought was unlucky. Marriner gave him a red for the tackle on Jonny Howson (He made it look worse) ... Some refs would have given a yellow.

So his disciplinary record wasn't that bad.

But, as you said, what an absolute gem of a player.

I remember during the warmup in that Leeds game, the Leeds coach and assistant manager Dennis Wise were on the pitch with the players and Wise was pointing at Bodde whilst talking to one of his players. Obviously giving him instructions to get Ferrie wound up in the game. I'll never forget that.
