Fair play, that photo of your sliced meat looked tremendous.

Bryn, any developments your end on this? We’re waiting for feedback.

Haven't had a chance yet Cwps. Had to make a big chilli yesterday to use up a kilo of frozen mince as our crappy old freezer has been tripping the house fuses again. Will give it a go as soon as I recover from seeing the price of lamb mince in Tesco. £4.50 for 500g! Taking the piss or what!

Yeah, my Mrs gave me one of her looks when I told her I was making doner kebabs out of it.

Haven't yet got around to your kebab recipe CWPS but FYI Trapiche is back on offer at Tesco at £6 down from £9 until the 14th of March. I've cracked one open (naughty on a school night I know, but Swans are playing which is my excuse), and for a Member it is indeed very smooth.

Two page thread on a donner kebab, Swansea in a nutshell

Aye, not just any doner kebab, it’s a home made doner kebab.

Staropramen and Trapiche - your drinking habits are closely aligned to that of my own.

Cheers for the heads up about the wine. I shall be making a purchase and recommend red wine drinkers to do the same.

Cwps..... We are having your kebab recipe tonight.... Just put the loaf tin in the oven... but using Tesco mince that only comes with a 20% fat content, and mini tortillas instead of pittas as Tesco had run out of white ones today, and tortillas aren't as filling.... Will keep you informed pal.

Must be cooked by now, Bryn?

Ta for the recipe Cwps..... Really enjoyed it, but will use 5%fat mince fron a decent butcher, rather than the 20% stuff, which is all you can get in Tesco, and we have no specialist butcher in the Bont. I used more spice as you recommended, and it was really nice with the mini tortillas.

Ta Cwps. I love a lamb doner, and this looks amazing. Will be definitely giving it a go soon.

Well when you put it like that I think I should show you this photo of my wonderful Saturday night meal. I had two of these.

Make it, Bryn. You won't be dissapointed.

is there a veggie option?

Indeed there is, it’s called a salad.

Good. It’s about the nearest thing I’ve made at home to a traditional dirty kebab. I wouldn’t bother personally with even better quality lamb as it just seems a bit over exuberant.

FAO: Epaul, Bryn, Jack123

Had a houseful last night so as a means of soaking up the booze I made this, including the dip. Carving it in a kebab shop style was probably the highlight of my week.
