• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Homelessness is very complicated as you’ve pointed out.

I’ve spoken to 3 homeless people (rough sleepers) in the last 2 weeks.

The first has some underlying MH issues and chooses to sleep rough most of the time, he can stay somewhere when he wants to but chooses to sleep on the streets. I suspect there’s MH issues and a former drinking problem underlying his issues, he’s a bright guy but very pleasant.

The second was in emergency accommodation, but got hoofed out because he was he nicking from others - again a very pleasant person.

The third was also in emergency accommodation but got booted out for breaching the rules and being found in possession of drugs.

Two of the 3 brought it on themselves. I signposted the first to someone who could help him but he didn't want it, the second to someone who could help him and he accepted, the third wanted help but wouldn't actually doing anything re the advice given to him and the help that was arranged, he couldn’t be bothered to get the ball rolling and blamed everyone else but himself. You can lead a horse to water……
Exactly and thanks for trying.

To solve the issue we’d literally need to change the whole system on everything. The whole way society is structured.

There are some beauts on here mind, trying to score points after some poor sods sad demise.

And for what rockin said ‘ hoisted by his own petard’ what actual planet are you on?

That’s a callous and hateful statement frankly, I can only assume you don’t understand what you said there, though I would be quite surprised if you did because I know you are not stupid

He'd have been alright up that lamp post had he not leaned so far to the right.

Little OTT but I take your point. But let’s be frank here in much of England there are thousands of these cheap tat otherwise known as flags being put up and much of it is designed to intimidate. People have WARNED about the risks of doing this.

I and millions of others find it deeply sinister what is going on here. With a clear Far right agenda. Imagine being the only black person on the street where these are popping up. Come on any football fan who knows about terrace culture understands the signals that sends.

Putting flags up without the skills in the winter is obviously dangerous. Hopefully this will
serve as a warning and we can start getting back to some common sense.

Fair enough, it was a bit OTT, and I apologise for that.

This is not an argument regarding flags, I would like to get involved in. I know they are appearing everywhere. Quite a few by me.

Of course, it’s illegal to put up flags on lampposts.

No need to apologise you were right to challenge the point and it’s in poor taste. That doesn’t stop me having serious concerns about the prevalence of this foreign imported tat.

It reminds of back in the day at the vetch when fans would try to take over the north bank and visa versa. It has a horrible edge to it all and deep down we all know it.

It takes a man to apologise that’s why you should be in the top three Posters Of The year.
