Backs up my opinion Martin wanted promises on certain players, and this was one of them before taking the job. I'm certain Paterson and Laird are two others aswell.

How much of the Swansea.com seven figure sum has been spent on him I wonder? Or was the money spent in the knowledge Grimes will be leaving. Don't forget the club will have to make it seem credible to Fulham or whever else is in for Grimes that we're going to keep him unless they buck up their ideas in terms of a transfer fee before deadline day.

When everyone is fit and available, and assuming Grimes stays we’ll have a lot of midfielders competing for the two first team spots.

Grimes, Downes, Walsh, Smith, Fulton, Williams.

Going to be difficult to keep them all happy unless someone leaves.

There are potentially five places in midfield.

We currently play defenders on the wing.

Barcelona played Laudrup on the wing.

Lowe and Paterson would be good.

The wide positions would not be all about running and overlaps, they would come back to half way to pick up the ball and pass back to Benda.
