If I was a Newport fan I'd be hoping he's on his way to Cardiff or has something else lined up, because him leaving without anything on the cards, during a season, doesn't paint a pretty picture about the state of the club.
The timing of this announcement on the eve of an international break suggests he's received an offer from another club, most probably a Championship club, and probably Cardiff.
From my point of view it's a big step up to Cardiff, and the chances he'll meet their supporters' inflated estimations of themselves is slim, but alas, not impossible.
