• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

Absolute bargain of a signing so far, my captain if Grimes goes in January.

Mentioned it on the match day thread but his performance was worthy of MotM 9 times out of 10, but Paterson deservedly stole the headlines today

He really does seem to have it all… love his tenacious tackling.

But he can also receive the ball in a tight situation, retain possession and has a good range of passing.

And still some people think grimes is better, downes outshone grimes in every department yesterday, although grimes did have a decent game imo it was because downes did all the donkey work.

Tbh, I don't think it matters which one is better because the reality is that they work very well together and Grimes is a much better play when Downes is there. It's all about getting the right balance. If he keeps this up, Downes will probably be our next £15-£20m sale as combative midfielders like him with his skill set are in short supply and he's still young. Maybe Newcastle will give us £50m for him in January 😁

Really wants to do well. If he and Paterson can play like that consistently we'll have more bite than we've had in years in midfield

Not forgetting Ntcham of course, he's got a bit of bite too. I always saw him & Paterson as alternatives but the way Paterson played yesterday, he has to start at the moment. We'd miss Smith's industry but if we want to start a game with more attacking intent, it would have to be the same lineup but with Ntcham starting instead of Smith for me. Maybe not against WBA but we definitely should against Posh and maybe against Brum too although I suspect RM may want to start a bit more cautiously away from home.
