France V Wales

Haven't been too bad tbf. Sending off has killed the game though. What's the point in a friendly, the ref is an idiot. We looked capable on the counter with 11 on the field. Shame really.

Yeah but he's pinning their full back (Pavard?) down into a defensive position so he can't get forward much and overlap and link with Mbappe. Even if he doesn't do much attacking in a game he is so quick opposition teams have to hold back down his side

Ward us so much better than Hennessy.
The ref needs shooting for that red.
Violent conduct warrants a red in a friendly nowt else

Just turned it on after missing the first half and France have gone 2 up. Lost possession from a free kick, France break and score. What’s wrong with us FFS, can’t keep possession. Could be a long second half.

Absolute disgraceful decision, no way intentional, the ref has ruined this game.

Rodon gave griezmann way too much space on the edge of the box, poor defending.

Ward looks half tidy TBF, made a couple of decent saves, nothing he could do about their second.

Game was over as a contest when the referee sent Williams off, but have to say, a very encouraging performance, genuinely optimistic about at least getting through the group stage, and as Euro 16 taught us anything is possible...

Indeed, lost 3-0 to Sweden in the warm-ups for Euro 2016 with 11 men and they were nowhere near as good as France are. Most important things tonight are to avoid injury and to get players who have been injured some game time. Great to see the likes of Ramsey, Allen and Davies out there.

He's vitally important to the way we play, especially with Bale having nothing like the pace he once had. Think he must have shagged blackflyingswan's missus or something. ;)

Ramsey survived his 20 minutes or so. Hope he can keep fit.
Moore looks like a walking yellow card.

Technically if you’re giving a penalty for a handball that denies a goalscoring opportunity then it’s a red card, but that’s a pretty ridiculous rule anyway, even more so in a friendly. I agree with red cards for violent conduct or whatever but for a handball it’s just excessive. I’m sure France would have preferred a proper game against 11 men too.

I’m sure I heard Dan James say in his interview that the guys in the French team asked the ref not to send Williams off too.
