Better than not having any game time

Russell Martin will give some of his fringe players the chance to gain some much-needed match fitness with the club's Uunder-23s next week.

Kris O'Leary's side host Watford on Monday night before facing Coventry City's young guns three days later.

And Martin has revealed some of those who have not seen regular action in the senior set-up so far this season will be given the opportunity to get some minutes under their belts next week.

"We have an Under-23s game that we're going to utilise for some of the guys who haven't played enough minutes," said the Swans boss.

"There'll be some guys involved in that to get some minutes in. We'll treat it very seriously and we'll analyse it like we do any game.

"There'll be a couple of guys who need a rest and some treatment, we'll have to see how tomorrow goes [at Birmingham].

"We don't get many free weeks, we need a bit more work on a few things that we've identified over the last couple of games that'll help us more."
