• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Surprised at the number of people making comparisons to Grimes. He was far more aggressive and mobile than Grimes ever was.

Definitely more hints of Johnny De Guzman about him for me.
I nearly mentioned de Guzman but not sure he’s got that range yet, certainly a standout player though and a surprise no one plucked him from L1 before us. I mentioned Grimes for two reasons, one because he’s prepared to drop deep to receive the ball and the other because I knew some people would shit the bed at the sheer mention of it. It’s an obvious similarity and I can’t speculate as to why others might deny it…. I also made a point of saying ‘the best bits’.

His distribution reminds me of Ferrie Bodde. He is always looking for the forward passes when possible and he has an impressive range of distribution. He seems to always know when to play it simple, when to hit a long diagonal and when he can thread it between players trying to press him.

When you say “dropped deep” - he spent most of his time hiding between our centre halves. And yes - I did shit the bed

I’ll play. He never hid from receiving the ball, if you think that you have shit in your eyes. We could debate all day about what he actually did with it when he had it, but you’re talking bollocks.👍
