Vintage 1950’s Gibson Les Paul’s cost an absolute fortune even if they do not belong to famous musicians of past and present.

The auctioneering of stuff that once belonged to stars past and present is absolutely intriguing. The prices can be absolutely astronomical, or at times, can be surprisingly cheaper investments.

This guitar would have been a great investment imo and even has the holes where the ‘Bigsby’ tremolo once was along with the very unique (for a Les Paul Custom) ‘STEREO’ decal upon the truss rod cover. The guitar was sold by Steve Jones to 'Eater' punk bands guitarist, Steve Jones said that the frustrating Bigsby tremolo meant that it kept going out of tune.

You can tell that certain people have serious money when they pay the price of a house or more for a musical instrument or movie prop. I guess it's the thrill of having an item that there is only one of in the entire world, either because there was only one ever made, or because of its unique association with a previous owner or movie.

The Casablanca movie piano went for millions years ago! "Play it again Sam".
