• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Died today in 2011. Loved the way he played with so much feeling.

Never saw Gary Moore, he was supposed to headline Reading one year but he pulled out, Diamond Head came in at the last minute.

Did see Thin Lizzy in 1976 on the Johnny the Fox tour, but he wasn't with them then, Gorham and Robertson were the lead guitarists.

Eric Bell did dedicate Whisky in the Jar to the Welsh guy at the back in Finsbury Park, after I was chatting to him at the bar, wasbefore the days of selfies :)

I saw him live maybe 7 or 8 times starting with the Corridors of Power tour in 82 or 83 onto the later blues stuff.
A fantastic guitarist though he had a reputation for being a bit 'difficult'!
He was part of the Donington 84 bill which was a hell of a lineup but not his best performance tbf.
He really came into his own when he switched to the blues material in the early 90's, some of those concerts were the best live performances I've seen - some stunning solos.

I saw Eric Bell in the Troubadour in Port Talbot.

Wow is it 10 years since he ceased to exist, time goes so fast.

I saw Lena Lovich there.

Saw Gary Moore at St David’s Hall late 80’s when he did his blues tour. Albert Collins was with him. £10 a ticket which we all thought was steep at the time but a cracking blues gig.
