Getting pinged by track and trace

Do you still have and use the app?

I was down in the New Forest last week, unless you showed the staff at the door that you had checked in on the app they wouldn’t let you into any of the pubs, restaurants and attractions down there.

For those refusing to comply it was a straight forward you are not coming in. There are still plenty of vulnerable people out there who do need protecting from Covid, if track and trace helps then its all good. For those concerned about personal information and an attack on their personal liberties it’s way to late for that, we gave those up with the use of social media etc.

Never downloaded the app, never will. Had one jab, caught Covid, then eventually got my second jab. I know quite a few people who will never have a Covid jab.

My eldest is having his 2nd this week, we all be covered then, my youngest still in danger though being clinically vulnerable, I don't sit indoors anywhere, when I go for a pint/food I go to places where I can sit outside.
I work in peoples houses and have to rely on peoples honesty.

Was that the NHS app or the generic trace app that is used by all pubs/establishments?

It's the same with the NHS app and other generic track and trace apps. Don't get me started on the validity of lateral flow tests. Relying on peoples' honesty is brave.

Misses has been having to do Lateral flow tests for work, I was ill a fortnight ago and I did one, but that was ok.

Never had it, never will.

You've had your jabs though, yeah?

Yeah having the vaccine is a no brainier.

Getting the app and being told you have to isolate when you’ve had no contact with someone else, at all, it’s just lunacy.

Well myself and the better half rocked up at a caravan park down the Gower yesterday, strolled into the club house, masked, ordered two drinks at the bar, paid with card, took the drinks outside and found a table. No check whether we had done track and trace or not.
I can imagine quite a few businesses becoming this lax over the next few months.

With bar/club owners having been on their arses financially can anyone blame them?

Not at all, but it's not about apportioning blame. It's about the integrity of individuals and that of the track and trace system which is, largely based, on individual honesty. With some owners, as you pointed out, suffering financially what would anyone reasonably expect them to do with bills to pay and mouths to feed?

Been away for just over a week on a bit of a holiday, wherever we have gone we’ve had it sign in on the track and trace app or sign in on their register. Pubs, cafes or restaurants, they’ve all been insistent.
