• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

For Christmas I was given a ticket for an Elton John gig at the O2 next Tuesday, never seen him before so going up with an open mind.

As we’re in London on the Monday I had a peep to see what else was going on up in the big smoke and I’ve struck gold - well at least as far as I’m concerned. John Fogarty the creative force behind Creedence Clearwater Revival is playing in the O2 next Monday and they had tickets left - Winner! He’s a bit of a legend and I’ve always wanted to see him play live so the credit card’s been maxed out and I’ve got 2 nights at the O2 next week.

There are some cracking songs by CCR.
Fortunate Son
Bad Moon Rising
And (now poignantly) Proud Mary

I used to have their "Bayou Country" album in 1969 but don't know what happened to it, maybe took it to a party and it never left, lost a few albums like that including "Deep Purple in Rock"

The Mission and The Alarm have been added to The Cult Cardiff Castle gig.

I have to say that I was impressed with the new floodlights at The Racecourse.

I have an mp3 player (remember those?) plugged into an amp & speakers in our kitchen with about 3500-4000 tracks on it playing in some pseudo-random order and first track on when I pressed play just after I read the above post was The Mission's "Deliverance (Sorcerer's Mix)". Spooky! :o :o :o

Iron Maiden in Nottingham tomorrow evening

Edit. Spare ticket sold

Also hoping to do West Brom away on the Saturday and Bloodstock on the Sunday (Megadeth, Helloween, Sepultura) in August

One to get Blaze in the mood for tonight

Motley Crue were awesome on Saturday, really put the energy into it. Leppard were ok (not my bag tbh) It's The Cult tonight for about the 20th time
