Cranes ready to go and it's going up saturday night :p

After so many false starts, it's nice to see some real developments taking place:
New arena
Palace theatre
Copperworks
Kingsway
Then there are the student developments
Coastal developments on high Street
Redevelopment of oceana site
Redevelopment of Albert Hall

It really feels like this are finally happening for the city.

Well said mate, this bridge might not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's new investment.
Finally things are starting to move in the right direction.

It may be co-incidental, or even sheer luck, but due to the pandemic city centres are becoming more recreation based than retail (moving online for the best part), and Swansea has invested in that direction big time. The heavy investment here is not linked to a big retailer arriving (e.g. John Lewis - Cardiff), but may be a stroke of luck (or very good foresight?) that Swansea had moved in that direction before the pandemic. Either way, it's all good. A lot of city centres that are heavily retail based will likely have to invest similarly imho.

I think it'll work very, very well and link up the centre with the marina and SA1

We will have a lot of opportunities for quality leisure time.

To be able to walk from SA1 to Mumbles is a prospect I'm looking forward to on a fine day.(I'll probably be stopping every so often for refreshment purposes)🍰😉

One thing that frustrates me is the location of the train and bus stations, and especially the fact they are not together. I did write to the leader of SCC suggesting they take a look at Rome's Termini, and consider the same principles. They are together, and there are countless bars, deli's, dept stores and so on capitalising on people using the building, and also waiting for connections. I suggested they extend a rail line behind High Street (I mean the station - in that location - max 3 cars-ish waiting, all in a line, really???) and convert Parc Tawe to become a "Transportation Hub", that could even be somewhere you would go, even if you weren't using a bus, train or even a chopper lol (yes, I did suggest a heli pad - we were in the PL then...). Frustratingly, I understand that's what Cardiff now call theirs? This would mean serious red faces of course, given the "investment" in both the rail and bus stations in their existing locations. You guessed it - my communication was ignored.

Oh, and Dicko, if you're not driving, you can have a few shants as well...🍺🍺🍻😁😉😜

I think it's really helped to have a council leader who engages with people over social media - Rob Stewart deserves quite a bit of credit IMO

Things definitely seem to be improving as opposed to the decades of stagnation I've mostly known. It's encouraging to see that the council have grasped early that Covid and the Internet have changed everything. Not hard to imagine administrations past throwing everything into rejigging the shopping centre when things have moved past that.
