Harry Darling …

For footballing reasons he will stay with us or go to Brum

For money he goes to Wrexham

If he has ambition he will go to the 3 prem relegated sides if they bid

If there really is 6 teams battling for Harry incl the 3 relegated then its an absolute disgrace that the club let it get to the point of leaving for free. Even if he just had 1 yr left we'd probably make close to 5m on him with 6 teams bidding.

Coleman's fault
I'd imagine it's just one of several big reasons he lost his job here.

The Chuckle Brothers appointing him as Chairman was like Father Ted letting Dougal take charge of a funeral.

Coleman Fault and one of many reasons that lead to his demise. I personally don't see much point getting angry at this situation with Darling. It's a mess that I feel will not happen again. Darling is clearly hedging his bets. I called it a while ago. It's Wrexham or Birmingham. Surely our owners are now moving fast on replacement, no doubt.

In fairness I don't think the fault for this one lies primarily with Coleman, in many aspects his hands were tied by the owners who were determined to lowball wages and transfers as much as possible. Not saying he isn't entirely without blame for not standing up to the old owners but he was trying to run a marathon while hamstrung.

It's very disappointing to be losing him for a free, agreed. However, part of the reason some of these clubs are (apparently) in for him is because there is no transfer fee involved. Even a decent signing on fee and wages on a multi-year contract represents a significant saving compared to buying an equivalent player under contract.

We don't know what the detail of the new contracts he has been throughout this. You can also blame his agent and the understandable desire to earn more money wherever that may be

I mentioned this before the Oxford game, he’s definitely off. He was frustrated that the club prioritised sorting out Cabango’s situation but didn’t address his own. It kinda feels like we dragged our feet, assuming he’d jump at whatever offer we threw his way late in the season.

But the reality is, he was pretty annoyed being treated like that. His form improved significantly in the final few games, which really shifted the power in his favour. As of the Oxford game (and I haven’t heard anything to suggest otherwise since), he’s leaving. Lessons to be learnt regardless if you think he is quality/mediocre/shite, there way money to be made there or more service to be had.

Let's take the spotlight off Darling a little here,we all know why we are in the position with him....because we didn't deal with his contract situation in good time.

We are now entering the last year of contracts of the following players that we would like to see stay beyond 2026.
Key
Tymon

I hope they are not missing this scenario after having experience of issues with Darling,Cabango and Cullen.
