Harry Darling …

If Darling was/is pissed off with his treatment then that was under the Coleman/Williams stewardship.. both have gone and we have more switched board and manager. If he can't see past that then fine..

For me it's all about him securing his future with a lucrative 3 year contract which I doubt we could match

He has developed some great qualities but he has flaws in his game other teams have picked up on.

Replaceable 100%

I mentioned this before the Oxford game, he’s definitely off. He was frustrated that the club prioritised sorting out Cabango’s situation but didn’t address his own. It kinda feels like we dragged our feet, assuming he’d jump at whatever offer we threw his way late in the season.

But the reality is, he was pretty annoyed being treated like that. His form improved significantly in the final few games, which really shifted the power in his favour. As of the Oxford game (and I haven’t heard anything to suggest otherwise since), he’s leaving. Lessons to be learnt regardless if you think he is quality/mediocre/shite, there way money to be made there or more service to be had.
You say "He was frustrated that the club prioritised sorting out Cabango's situation but didn't address his own".

Have you considered that perhaps Cabango wasn't asking for extortionate amounts of money, and wasn't looking to pimp himself out to the highest bidder?
Just a thought.

Everyone and anyone is replaceable.

In fairness I don't think the fault for this one lies primarily with Coleman, in many aspects his hands were tied by the owners who were determined to lowball wages and transfers as much as possible. Not saying he isn't entirely without blame for not standing up to the old owners but he was trying to run a marathon while hamstrung.

Nothing wrong with not being able to get him to sign a new contract, it happens, but you must do that in sufficient time to transfer list him and get some money back for him.

Coleman fucked up big time. Like he did most of his time here.

It is not a given that he leaves- but we are in a rebuild again and budgets are limited. Therefore we put our best foot forward, set a deadline for an answer and likely move on/ thanking him for his service.

Only what I have been told he has said. Completely agree that what you say may be true, and also acknowledge that he may be saying all of this as an excuse for a more lucrative deal.

I just hope we learn from this and do not allow more players to go for free when they can command a fee.

As people have said, players who have 1 year left that we want to keep, should be offered contracts extensions now and if they won't sign look at selling them now and get replacements in. Also any player in that contract situation that we don't plan on giving an extension should be sold.

We may not be ale to sell as no-one wants them or no-one will pay as much as we do for them but we should try.

I’m hating waiting for this even if it’s to find out he’s moving on. Can’t blame him tying to maximise his earnings and/or career potential although it has now resulted in a bit of an uncomfortable relationship with the fans. However, I really hope he stays with us I don’t think our fanbase properly rates him

Couldn’t agree more. Hopefully the new owners and management have woken up to this now

I don’t think it’s made any difference to his relationship with the fans. Not the fans in the ground anyway. There was a fair few still singing his name long after the final whistle of the last game.

As I said I hope he signs with us, I rate him. Chanting to encourage him to stay before the holdout though, wouldn’t read that so literally as to fans views tbf

And neither should fans views on the opposite side of things he spectrum be taken as gospel either, but specially those online. From what I’ve seen most fans want him to stay on wages that the club can afford, but if not wish him all the best in trying to secure his future for him and his family. I’ve seen no breakdown in fans feelings towards him.

I think that's the issue. The waiting game. Can't blame him wanting to see who is out there, but I feel as a club we need to pull the plug on this. Move on fast, he is going we all know that. I imagine things will become clearer in few weeks. When he holds up the Wrexham Top 😂😂

The deadline is set by the date at end of his contract. No point bringing a date forward with an ultimatum just for the sake of it. It’s big business not a petulant playground squabble. I think he’s gone regardless though, not much of a leap to think that if he was going to sign he would have by now.

Less a case of mulling over our offer and more a case of patiently waiting to see what else comes in. Every one of us on here would do the same. He’s gone.
