• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Noticed the Barnsley fans worrying we’d come in for him if it is indeed Duff.

Instead of arguing about compensation for Captain Bullshit, we should take the lower amount on condition they take the Fish for £1.50.

I'll throw in another £1.50 so we can offer them £3.00 to take him.

Fish in my local chippie is a lot more than that. They would be getting him for a bargain.
Cheap skates. 😉

As long as it means, no more floundering

Nowt wrong with Benda when he plays for a manager who isn't dedicated to kamikaze football.
How much of the same can be said for Fisher is another question, but we will have to wait and see what the new man in charge has to think about them.

Maybe we’re having Harry Instead.

Fisher was always made to look worse than he is by the way we set ourselves up. With a proper back four in those last ten games he looked at least capable of doing a job. Confidence is a huge thing for a goalie and his was ruined by Russy.

He's not a great keeper by any margin and I'd pick Benda ahead of him ten times out of ten, but he's certainly not as bad as the reputation he has in some quarters.

It is always hard for a keeper to look good when he has been thrown to the wolves by suspect defending and/or suspect coaching/tactics.

While that doesn't explain some of the high profile howlers that he made towards the tail end of the season he did seem to show the character to persevere through that tough patch. He has earned enough credit in my eyes to have another chance, this time hopefully with a manager who won't leave the defensive aspects of the team hung out to dry.

Anyone know if there have been any updates on Benda's injury rehab progress and when he's likely to resume training?

I think Benda is going to miss the start of the season so we will likely need someone in albeit a loan would make more sense for a few months rather than giving this Isted a contract for a few years.
