Hourihane

He's not a team player
Don't want to see him in the team ever again.

I was hoping the little break would have done him good and he'd be back in games like he was when he first joined. Not to be though. That game was far too frenetic for him; he can't find passes when under pressure. Smith would have been a better option - much calmer on the ball and better work rate.

He’s absolutely shocking... bar 1 free kick. Even his set pieces were awful tonight.

Why do managers have selective blindness when it comes to some players? If I was Cooper and could see a player was not contributing and in fact was pulling the team down, he'd be out, loan from a Prem club or not.

I think you can play Hourihane but you need to right formation and players around him. He is never going to get in the game when the ball is in the air so much as it was tonight although his work rate is questionable. The problem lies with having Grimes and Hourihane in the same side. It doesn't work, it's never worked and still Cooper preservers with it. He was never a box to box player in his early career and he can't hack the Villa style and tempo they play now. He is a luxury we maybe can't afford to run with anymore !?

When Hourihane humped the ball 30 yards backwards for a Barnsley corner I could only imagine the collective groan from every Swansea City supporter. Even the commentators said that he seemed to lack composure under pressure, for me he needs to be taken out for the 2nd leg and either Dhanda or Oli Cooper given the more offensive midfield position.

I couldn’t give a f*ck we just won the first leg of a play off semi final 1-0.

I do, if we had someone else we might have won by more you dick.

Don't be silly now, Dhanda is a league one player and Cooper is a development level player..

Barnsley fans are in agreement about Hourihane.

Mansfield_red “Woodman was outstanding for them. Proper keeper that lad. … Who was that impostor and what has he done with the real Conor Hourihane?”

ade: “I thought Conor kept giving us breaks, especially towards the end. Loves us really.”

red24/7: “Conor tried his best to get us through, booted it out for last minute corner, over hit every set piece, nearly scored from one of them though, let’s hope he starts in 2nd leg so he can stick that own goal in.”

Merde Tete: “On tonight's showing he probably wouldn't get in our side at this level, never mind in the Premier League. Maybe Swansea just aren't using him properly, because he looked a shadow of the player that left us in 2017.”

Gegenpresser: “That's because he needs time to play. Without time Conor is ineffective - he can't touch to buy space of his own or beat a man so he always plays it back. We pressed the life out of him. I admit that this is no explanation for his (thankfully) off night with a dead ball. He might get us back on Saturday.”

Andrew Tennant: “Agent Hourihane seemed still to be playing for us.”

I still don’t care.
