How often do you shave?

You can't shave it now, there'll be birds nesting in there and small mammals breeding.

I'd like to think if I ever got knocked over I would be well presented if I had to be examined up A&E, just like you would put clean underwear on just in case of an emergency...

Never understood that. If you had an emergency they wouldnt be clean.

I seem to have got into a once every 8-10 days routine. Not by intent, just that I don't give it any thought for the first 4-5 days after shaving then spend another 4-5 days thinking I need a shave before actually getting around to doing it. :D

I used to shave every single day for decades, until lockdown when I decided to experiment with a beard (mainly because I didn't have the guts previously, in case it turned out shit and people took the piss 😄).

3 and a half years later, and after experimenting with some different lengths, have settled on a 3mm trim once a week and I tidy the lines up twice a week. Wouldn't go back to clean shaven now, wouldn't feel right.

Me too! It's generally when I look in the bathroom mirror and see a bald old man with white stubble instead of a long-haired young man who's ginger.

So let's get on to the really important question: Bic or electric razor?

I use the dog grooming kit to trim my beard every two weeks. It started during lockdown when yet another beard trimmer broke and I bought a new set of guards for the dog groomer. One of the best decisions I’ve made.

Electric mostly, especially when I'm driving on the M5 which I always find is a convenient time for me to shave :D  However, I do also have a Bic which I nicked off my Mrs just for snicking off those odd hairs that I missed.

Every day when working, when Mrs Mute says it’s time to shave these days. Wet shaving since about 40 years ago.
Too be honest I don’t have a prolific growth anyway, so it doesn’t look too bad most of the time.

For the last 25 years or so I've been using Wilkinson Sword disposables that have 2 blades and aloe Vera strips, purely because those Gilette 'Mach 3' type replacement blades are so expensive in a completely taking the piss sort of way...they will easily last a month when I shave every other day, before getting out a new one; even though I read in the Evening Post last week that razors should be replaced after just 5 to 6 shaves for hygiene reasons....feck that!
