Colleague in work gets a Facebook messenger message saying "can you pay £300 bill for me and I'll give you it back plus £10 tomorrow"
Then "national insurance " left an automated message to another saying they are going to "seize assets".
Then I get a HSBC text saying a new device tried to make a payment. I don't even bank with them.

It would be funny if it wasn't so tiresome.

I feel sorry for the elderly and vulnerable who believe all this shit.

I believe it must be https://twitter.com/CMOWales/status/1359503801468801025

Just assume everything is a scam, if unsure contact your bank
You would think people had wised up by now, obviously not everybody or they wouldn't keep trying

Ive had them all in the last few months, nowt today so far, yesterday was TV licence, last weeks call was they wanted me to log on my PC and they would sort some issues out! yeah like fook.

One of the biggest this week that affects us all is the awarding of a contract to a mate of Wancocks for PPE.

I've just had an e-mail from 'the Royal Mail" telling me they've just tried to deliver a parcel but I was out. Really? Doing deliveries to the Valencian Community in Spain now, are you?
To schedule a re-delivery, a fee must be paid, follow the link.
Just feck off, is it, you sad scamming w*nkers?

If you fancy a bit of a laugh and watch as some of these scammers are taken down, take a look on YouTube. Just search for scammer payback. Some are great especially when the good guy locks the scammer out of his own pc.

They truly are scumbags but worryingly highly organised. There's one terrific video where the good guy is able to hack into the cameras at the dodgy Indian call centre and he can watch the scammers as his pc is destroyed

Kitboga is a master at this, hundreds of videos on his channel and he live streams doing it on twitch. Some of them go on for days or even weeks.

There's an article about this in WHICH Money Magazine in January. They say that "The Police have abandoned hope of a criminal justice outcome in the vast majority of cases". Which is understandable since so many of them are outside their jurisdiction.

"The scale of the problem faced by police is unprecedented: fraud was the most common type of crime in England and Wales to March 2020, with nearly 3.7 million incidents recorded. That's significantly more than theft, the next most common crime type, which had 3.3 million incidents recorded."

My old man had a cracker today, " hello Spencer please click here to receive £50 in free bets from Betfair for Cheltenham festival"

He's never bet online and isn't called Spencer.
🤨😂🤣

I had a call earlier saying I was under investigation by HMRC, it said press one or as warrant would be issued for my arrest.

I had one today an Indian guy claiming to be from BT Open Reach I just said to him Ok, what you calling me for? and he hung up. I'm sure they assess the kind of person you are by your voice. If a doddery old woman answered they would probably attempt to rob her blind.

Make the elders in your life aware of these things.
