Be careful when your isolation period starts.

On Thursday I noticed that the texts you receive from the NHS telling you that you are positive and you must isolate, changed their wording slightly.

They used to tell you to start your 10 day isolation from the day of your test, or the day your symptoms started. They now say to start your isolation the day after your test, or the day after your symptoms first started. The NHS and Welsh Gov online guidance pages were still advising of the former.

Spent most of Friday and today on the phone to NHS & PHW, the NHS have updated their guidance page, but the Welsh Gov still haven't done theirs. Incidentally, the NHS guidance page have now worded it in an even worse way than it was before. But at least it now matches what the notification texts say.

So it could be argued now that it's an 11 day isolation not a 10 day.

I've also seen examples that local test and trace teams are still sending out letters stating a 14 day isolation period, which is obviously incorrect. The 14 day isolation only applies in the care home setting.

May help someone, probably help businesses more than individuals.

Has anyone on here been rung up by track and trace?
Ive heard "unknown" flashes up......many will not answer

We were called by T@T . a few times on the house phone , coming up as either "international" or "out of area" considering most info says the call would be from a certain number/

Ever dealt with them? They change their mind depending on who calls you.

Ever dealt with who? If you mean PHW, yes weekly.

Always found them extremely helpful, if a bit slow to make changes.

If you mean the NHS test and trace people, then yes weekly as well. They are a complete and utter shambles, who continually give out the wrong advice. They are polite enough, but just not fit for purpose on the whole.

This one.

Lady on the phone was very pleasant

Said the isolation period was 10 days after symptoms, which I had to ask her again just to be sure, as I was sure it was 10 days after the test.

If you have symptoms, it used to be 10 days from the day your symptoms first started.

If you didn't have symptoms, but had a test and tested positive, it used to be 10 days from the day of the test.

It's now 10 days, starting from the day after your symptoms first started, or 10 days starting from the day after your test, if you didn't have symptoms.

I suspect they may be trying to readjust the isolation time discreetly after making allowances for Christmas.

My experience of Track and Trace was good, but then again I knew what I was talking about. I was contacted from a Cardiff number.

When I had it, was told 10 days from when symptoms were showing... Had my test on Dec 30th.

My take on it is that it seemed like a young girl who was just reading out what was set out in front of her. Questions I asked where answered in time when it was clear she was looking on line for an answer.

Yeah, they're just admin people. It's not their fault.

Swansea Council hired quite a few local contact tracers and the training wasn’t the strongest...
