Ivor Allchurch is arguably the greatest footballer in the history of Swansea City Football Club and one of the very best to have played for Wales.
‘Ivor Allchurch – Golden Days’ is a new documentary commissioned by the Swans Trust that tells Ivor’s story from the perspective of his family and we are pleased to confirm its first public screening will be held at 7.30pm on Friday 17th October in the Taliesin Arts Centre, Swansea.
Tickets are now available on general sale via the online Taliesin booking office HERE
Prices to help offset the hire of the facilities have been set as follows:
Adult: (over 26) = £6.00
Young Adult (18-25) = £5.00
Student: (ID Required) = £3.00
Junior (under 18) = Free
Any profits after costs will be donated to the Swansea City Former Players’ Association
This new documentary features in depth interviews with Ivor’s wife, Esme, and sons, John and David where the film gives – for the first time – the human story of the humble man behind the legend from those who knew him best.
Featuring personal stories and never before seen photos from the extensive family archive, ‘Ivor Allchurch – Golden Days’, it’s a story of incredible achievement underlined by a genuine humility and grounded respect for others which gives a unique insight into the life and career of this most gifted of footballers whose many achievements in the 1950’s and 60’s still stand to this day.
The film was commissioned by the Swansea City Supporters’ Trust and was made by David Brayley and Max Webborn, two of the three filmmakers behind the critically acclaimed football film, ‘Wonderland – The Alice Street Story’ (2023).
We hope you’ll be able to join us for this first public screening.
If anyone has any questions about this new documentary or the Taliesin Arts Centre screening, please email us at supporters@swanstrust.co.uk
For awareness we expect demand to see the first public screening of this film will be high so we advise you to book your tickets early to guarantee your attendance.
Thank you / Diolch
