• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Has he really pulled up any tree's for foreign clubs to warrant an interest in signing him. Similar to Dhanda's supposed interest. Surprised if this has legs.

He got 4 goals less than Ayew who was on pens (Ayew scored 5 pens)

Instinctively £6m feels high but at say £4m would that give the kind of kitty we would need for the players Martin wants?

And - assuming its true - better to lose Lowe than Grimes?

Possibly is to high, but I’m sure Anderlecht payed around 8M for Kemar Roofe, if we are to lose anyone of our ‘star’ players this season unfortunately I’d have to say Roberts would be the one I’m willing to leave to boost funds but his injury isn’t helping that situation.

A relatively small proportion of Anderlecht's transfer payments have been big money in recent years (maybe why they have dropped down the rankings a bit).
Anything like £2 million for Lowe would be good from them. Also he's not on a very big (comparatively) wage so unless Piroe is his replacement the sums don't really benefit us.
PS
14 league goals last season has only been bettered a few times in the last 11 seasons and never as a 'second striker'
£ for £ (inflation adjusted) he's only behind Michu in goals per £.

I can understand us buying cheap and selling big, but the figures that are being bandied about for Lowe and Grimes, believed to be maybe a couple of million each, are not worth it when the club is trying to progress.

Personally I like Lowe and I think that the RM style of football will suit him far more than Cooperball. As a result I would prefer him to stay and would only really be happy selling him if the funds raised went to recruiting a high calibre striker like Thomas Henry.

How much we thinking? Bear in mind Wigan payed 2.5M for him so the 800K we payed was due to their financial problems, on the back of a solid scoring season for us,6-8M?

Only if Grimes signs a new contract.

Apart from his purple patch last season he's been fairly ineffective... Cheerio Lowe

Just what the hell ?
Clearly not a fan ?
How anyone could be effective in a side managed by Cooper is amazing.
Think he will be a star for us if he stays this season, with the opportunities and style of play

Yeah I'm basing it off last season, nothing to say he couldn't Thrive under the new manager.

I like Lowe and he’s been an absolute steal for 800K, how he managed double figures under Cooper whilst playing in a position that’s not his natural one is great effort from him, I’d be disappointed to see him leave this window.

Fair enough. Although his scoring rate wasn't that bad in a side that failed to create too many chances last season
