There is much written on Twitter about his absence from the matches recently with a very clear sneer towards his mental health.

Forget the fact that it is Paterson but what is very clear is that we have a long way to go as society to have a better understanding of mental health and how it can impact people IMO

Where was this?

There was a few posts on twitter yesterday referring to him as a snowflake etc - granted much was probably in the immediate aftermath of the final whistle which should probably be ignored

Although the wider point is that it demonstrates either way a lack of understanding towards mental health issues

Maybe more for the non football board

Ah, the age old ITK rumours during a bad run. Twas ever thus.

I'm surprised, after RM blamed him for Millwall, that he hasn't featured.

As you say, so much further to go. That's probably also the case for clubs as well as fans.

Lose to Stoke, then I'll be concerned as to the mental well being of 15k next Saturday.

Society has a long way to go on many many issues not just mental health.

We live in a world where rumours become fact (incorrectly) in a very short time.
Always easier to criticize without knowing the true situation.

Its a terrible condition and a real battle to come through, if anyone ever can of course, if he is suffering then my best wishes go out to him and hope he can get the help needed to get back to be comfortable within himself.

Martin blaming Pato, shows how far Martin is prepared to go, to avoid taking any blame.
To throw someone under the bus, after talking about Patos mental health previously was just disgusting.

Mental health is not looked at as a serious problem in a lot of industries.
Yet the amount of suicides seems to increase every year.
Even with sports people.
