What’s he doing playing for us in the championship?

He got better and better as the game went on.

He’s still a Premier League player.

You have to be able to play more than sixty minutes to be a Premiership player, agreed he showed his class tonight but we’re going to need to get a full game out of him, whether that is possible I’m not sure.

He’s going to get better and better, great performance.

I think he could have played on tonight… didn’t look tired at all and was getting better and better.

I think they just had 1 eye on Saturday and trying to manage him after a bad injury.

He played 90 mins for the majority of Stoke games the last few seasons… rarely injured.

I’m sure Joe gave a sign to the bench 5 minutes before he was taken off.

Great performance by him.

It's pretty common for players coming back from an injury to play less than the full 90 minutes when they're building up their match fitness.

Allen is only 32 and has played almost 600 career matches. Not sure why so many seem keen to paint him as ready for the knacker's yard?

I don’t get that either.

and then we take him off........

First game back after long injury, was only going to get an hour.

Someone said he signalled to the bench too.
