• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Was playing for Cambrian & Clydach in welsh league last year, and has just won u21s player or the year. Good on him.

Good to see Joe is involved in preseason - with a total lack of wingbacks in the club at the moment its a huge opportunity for him to try to impress MD and get some preseason minutes in and stake a claim for a spot.

Surprised not to see Josh Thomas getting a similar chance considering how he destroyed the U21s league last season.

I know in the vid on official site some players were missing (Cabango, Ntcham immediately came to mind) - guessing due to international involvement but I don't think the Wales U21s played?

EDIT:

Never mind the U21s did play on the 20th, Congreve and Thomas both played in that game and were also missing from the preseason examinations.

Congreve played the 90 for the u21s against Denmark on Tuesday. Josh had 15 minutes. Cotterill and Lloyd were on the bench. So a little odd not to see Josh not there when the others are. Maybe he's just too far down the striker pecking order (Piroe, Cullen, Whittaker, Joseph). A lot more open at wingback, only Nat Ogbeta there other than Joe, and he's still injured.

Sure I spotted the young Irish lad we signed yesterday on crutches when the physios were having a look at Nathan Wood in that video 🧐

Pretty sure it's Ogbeta on crutches.

Looking at the list in the video, the currently injured players (with an asterisk next to their name on the list) are; Benda, Ogbeta, Walsh and Archie Matthews.

Young players involved yesterday were; Congreve, Joel Cotterill, Abdulai, Liam Smith, Ben Lloyd, Ben Hughes and Joe Thomas.

Feel we'll be making plenty of use of some of those players next season, along with Josh Thomas.

Pre season is always a fantastic experience for the youngsters who are arguably too good for their age groups and knocking on the door of being good enough to be involved with the first team. There is always the hope that a couple of them will make the grade and get promoted to work with the first team which of course then inspires others in the u21s and u23s as they can see that the pathway to the first team does exist.

I have high hopes for Abdulai, Lloyd, Thomas and Thomas. Wondering how it will work with shirts if they were both in the same side, usually same names are told apart by including first initial but they are both J Thomas
