Going from Blackburn to Derby… seems a weird one
We’ve got the US version of the Venky’s.From a Blackburn forum from Jan 25th
"
John Eustace has decided he’s had enough at Ewood and will leave Rovers at the first opportunity.
There are many reasons why he has become disenchanted with the club.
The lack of signings this window is one frustration but it is a symptom of what he sees as the main problem, which is the complete lack of any communication with the owners and the resultant absence of decision making at the club.
Not unreasonably he wants to know what are the owners plans for the future and their vision for the years ahead. His requests for information have met stonewalling from the Ewood hierarchy and his own attempts to contact the owners have not been successful.
In short, he sees no future for the club as it stands and as an ambitious manager he does see a future for himself either. He wants to leave.
He has applied for several jobs in recent weeks, including West Brom and Coventry, and he will be applying for any appealing vacancy at this level that arises. So he could be gone in weeks, or it might be months, but his days at the club are numbered.
This information came from senior sources within the club. "
Saw that, he used to play for Derby and maybe their owners are better than them Venky boys.Going from Blackburn to Derby… seems a weird one
Oh god. Don't start they rumour. Williams will get a sniff and it will he West Brom all over. I mean Williams needs to go. But still. Maybe hold off till SummerTurned us down before but would have been a good candidate again for us if we could have convinced him.
Wonder if Blackburn would be in for Luke?
Possibly.Seems a bit of a wrong un. Messed us around numerous times too
If memory serves Eustace agreed to join us after Cooper left and before we got in Martin but then changed his mind citing family issues right after all the press conference stuff was finalised. So this was before the reputation of the owners (and the club by extension) took a nose dive, we had reached two play offs in a row and while the next season we wouldn't have any parachute payments left other than Woodman, Guehi and Brewster he would have inherited a pretty strong squad that was almost entirely intact from that playoff final loss.Possibly.
But playing devil's advocate, he's been at two basket case clubs in a row and done quite well at both. He might just have had a titful of fighting against the tide, and is looking for a club with a bit more stability to give himself a better chance to succeed.
As for us we are a bit of a basket case too, so I don't blame him for giving us a wide berth. You've only got to look at how many excellent young coaches we've lost over the last 6 years because of our own twattery. Word gets around.
He's going for the poke though at the end of the day. Good luck to him, he'll need it.Eustace used to play for Derby and he is from the Midlands Solihull
