Jordan Morris

Thought he looked very direct. Couple of rough edges to knock off but a very encouraging start.

We need to be seeing him for more than 10-15 minute cameos though. I'd start him against Citeh.

Should we make multiple changes and he plays, chances are he'll be slaughtered by numpties on here after the game as he will be feeding off scraps and chasing shadows all night.

Is the correct answer. Plus his speed will be completely negated by players such as Kyle Walker.

Easy enough to ignore the online numpties.

He needs minutes on the pitch to get up to speed to both the way we play and UK football in general. In the long term it'll serve us better if he's used to the pace of the game.

He stood around watching opposition players run past him a bit to much for my liking, it's a new league for him but he needs to get up to speed fast.

Fck my eyes, you serious?

😂 Yeah I was a bit excited after the match, a bit harsh with hind sight.wasn't slagging him, early days and I want him to do well for us.

Anyone think Cooper will start Morris against City?

I think he should start. Ayew and Lowe both work very hard and either one could do with a rest. Be a good chance for Morris to prove himself.

I don't think any of our key players should start the cup match.

Why on earth not? They want to show they can play in the PL don't they, and they are just as likely to get injured on Saturday as tomorrow. The bigger downside is a humiliating hammering for some kids/stiffs that might be ruined by it, and it would dent morale overall if first teamers were forced to sit on the sidelines in a game they probably want to play in. They are professional footballers. I suppose if our A team got humped it would be damaging, that's the real downside I suppose. But I don't think it would happen and if it did, well there's something to prove on Saturday then isn't there. I would go with our full side but Morris for AA and Latty and other Ryan in for Biddy and Naughts. If we're out of it at half time swap in some of the others to rest players for Saturday. Otherwise, imagine the wave of confidence were our first team to win, even on pens, or giving a good showing would keep us going on the roll. Some of these players may never get the chance to play against Man City if we don't make it out of this league this year.

After all, leave out our key players and that's FW, CR, JB, RB, BC, MG, JF, CH, AA, JL and MG out. That makes a bit of a dent in the side.

I don't disagree with that. I think our squad is strong enough to put out a good team and rest players.

Who do you go with up front? Morris and Whittaker? Or Routledge?

Sorry pal, no championship player's confidence is getting dented by losing to Man City.

We have far more important games than tomorrow's. We have our best chance of promotion in years that we wont have next year as we will need to replace a few key players if we don't go up.

Yes the chances of injuries are the same but chasing shadows for 90 minutes tomorrow is just putting extra load on players that have a long enough season.

Play the fringe players, let the key starters rest.

Absolutely agree, anyone with any sense won't be expecting Morris to rip Citeh's defence to shreds, but the lad needs maximum game time tomorrow night, he should start along with Arriola even if only for the first hour, or until their legs give up.

Don't see any reason why our chances of promotion need be any worse next season than this. We're in good shape as a club, have shown ourselves capable of identifying replacement players again and if Covid losses hit others as hard as it might do we'll be in better financial nick than most of them too.

🤣 I'm on my own then.

I don't much care what he does. I suspect it'll be the team that beat Forest with Morris and Whittaker for Cullen and Routs. Plus maybe Freeman or Arriola for Roberts. So FW, KF, RM, JL, RB, MG, MG, CH, YD, JM, MW. Maybe Cabango for Bennett, and I think he may well go Lowe (he brought him in early against Forest, which shows he is not downplaying the competition) not Whittaker.
