Just not seeing it.

What would you expect Matos to do with the centre halfs at his disposal?
Neither Cabango or Burgess are comfortable on the ball & short of playing Fulton out of position the only alternative Matos has is Santos (who isn't good enough).
Cabango & Burgess overplaying at the back is a recipe for disaster.
I wouldn’t describe gettIng the ball down with nobody around you or a cushioned unchallenged header overplaying.

I am, are you saying that Citeh weren’t impressive against Liverpool then?

If you're going to deliberately ignore the actual point of the post and the word "inconsistent" then I think I'll leave you to your evening trying to get reactions from others.

They’re so inconsistent that they’re second in the Premier League, if that’s inconsistent then I’ll take a bucket full of it.

Neither would I but I don't see them hoofing it all the time either.
They're both limited & that's a restriction the manager has to work with because of poor recruitment.

You can be inconsistent and second in the league, those things are not mutually exclusive.

I could waste my time explaining this but I suspect you already understand it and are just bored.

For the record I don’t think there’s anything wrong with having a style of play and my preference would be for us to play possession football. I don’t think @Copamundial is saying anything against Matos and I understand the scepticism given that we don’t seem to be as ideologically driven as we were.

If we’re still launching the ball up the pitch under little pressure this time next season I might start to share the same concerns. For now, we just have to wait and see what the plan will be.

Or you could just say that this Citeh side are just a good team and not a great Citeh side and are having a normal season, anyway this isn’t a Citizens site so you have the last word if you want.

I wasn't gonna comment on this thread as well I can't be bothered to get into any heated debate. But simply put, if know one can see the game plan and what we are trying to do (even the less educated - and I add myself into that) then maybe you should change your viewing habits and go watch some other sport 😂. It's clear what Matos is trying to do, in simple terms, add pressure on the opposition and understand when to press together in order to force errors that leads to quicker transition and pace. His ethos is built around fitness and intent and has stated in a number of interviews this will get you in the team. To many it's seen as headless running, but it's so much more to that. The problems that we have at moment is Matos is working with a team nearly half way through the season who was playing much slower and trying to add his approach and style into a team that was low on confidence and had lowest shooting stats. I firmly believe it Matos can get the players in the summer (RB), Defense and Wingers we can get into the top 10 comfortable next season.
