I saw him and Regis and Batson playing for WBA at Elland Road circa 1979 when I was living in Leeds. They played rings around Leeds and by god did they take some abuse. I forgot where I was and clapped one of their goals (I think Regis) it was so good. Lucky to get out alive really. What players though, and what courage they had.

Football has come a long way over the last 42 years, but there’s still some way to go. That West Brom team from the late 70’s was a good side with some real quality players.
