• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

I think Madri is fake Spanish lager manufactured in the UK under licence, isn't it? Had a drop in Vesuvius when I was over a few weeks ago, it was OK, nothing special.

When I lived in southern Holland thirty years ago, every few weeks I used to drive over the border to a Belgian beer warehouse to buy a crate of Leffe brown, a crate of De Koning bitter and a crate of Stella lager. And take back the empties! It was cheap as chips.

Leffe brown and blonde available here in the local supermarkets, but quite expensive by Spanish standards. I tend to buy six packs of Perlenbacher German lager from Lidl. 6 X 50cl bottles for approx. 3.60€. Sickening, isn't it?

Had a couple of bottles of Cobra the other week, so tried the Kingfisher beers last Saturday nice enough probably a bit more body to it than the Cobra, but I probably prefer the Cobra.
Fed up of the "Real Ales" in a bottle.
May try a couple of bottles of the Madri.

Is there anything you haven’t tried then?

Yep Madri made for kids by Coors i think awful stuff, Leffe is lovely up there though is La chouffe and will take some beating along with Tripel Karmliet. Anyway what i was going to say was that Patronus by Perlenbacher is a nice wheat beer from lidls and they give it away. Puts a smile on my face anyway, just finished lunch with some of the new unfiltered Stella not the same taste as your 5.2 crate(i do miss it) but better than the normal stuff.

I think you're doing Madri a disservice, it's a tidy drop, it's much better than their maker Coors..

Birra Moretti
Peroni
Amstel
Budweiser
Staropraman
Heineken

All better than Carling, Bud Light, Stella and Carlsberg.. Beck's is ok.. I've never tried Leffe

All of it tastes similar being a lager, there's no unique ones, I like Desperados and Corona with lime, but that's how exotic you can get for lager

Madri all the rage among everyone in our walking football club, I do quite like it and now it's available in the supermarkets 4 cans for £4:05 in Morrisons which aint bad

Piss head

My local has got Madri on draft and I have enjoyed what I’ve had, no complaints whatsoever.

They also have Staropramen on draft which is still the champion of all lagers. My beer of the year 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and quite possibly 2022.

I just don't get the adulation that Staropramen gets, I've tried it a few times and its not for me, to bland, Im not much of a Lager drinker though.

Pale Ales mainly to be honest, fed up of the bottle stuff though, I did have a few Proper Jobs today on draft down at the Pilot, they had Jaipur there on draft as well, that's a proper drink, but at 5.9% I give it a miss safternoon :D Mrs wanted to pop to the Butchers on Newton Rd, so I took the opportunity to pop along to the pilot for a swift half or three
