Thank you to the 3 people who reported posts in this thread - proof that the system works but just a quick one from me as heading out of the door for food and drinks with friends not seen for too long.

The posts referred to on Christmas Day started life about a dog and fell, in the early hours of Boxing Day into some name calling, which was pointless but nothing worse than you would see in a school playground. (Surely this wouldn't be fuelled by a few beers on Christmas Day do you think? ;-)) When I had a quick glance on here when I got up Boxing Day then I removed the posts (the admin logs tells me this was 10.10am, I need to get up earlier!) but this was not before the first action done by others was to create a post on Keith's site moaning about how it had happened and using - from what I was told by Keith - probably more severe name calling (but ultimately very playground-esque). He removed the topic as well.

This thread is a little pointless in it's entirety but just so everyone gets the chance to read this I am leaving it here locked this evening just so my point of view, as the person who does the cleaning around here, is made. I will delete it at some stage tomorrow, the time of which will probably be dictated by the severity of my hangover!

I can safely say I don't really care what people discuss on any other site - Swansea or non Swansea related. What this achieved yesterday was one well vilified poster (and for the record said poster and I fell out several years ago after he chose one of my mother's facebook posts to throw some abuse at me - she is in her 80s) bemoaning that "Sumbler doesn't shut this down" a good hour after the post was deleted (Aye, I get screenshots sent to me too)

The irony that totally amuses me though is that there are people out there who are deciding what is right and wrong and claiming to be trying to reduce the problems. The irony comes from them creating more than they solve. If you don't like a post its possible to move on but sadly that isn't something that some are capable of

So let's keep this simple heading into '22. There are - and there can be - multiple Swansea sites. Some people post on all, some, one or none. It's not that difficult and never have I questioned why people do it nor do I intend to start now. People are generally welcome to post on here except those that are just here to create names, hurl around a few insults, try and create arguments and then disappear. They are - of course - not unique to this site (the type of person not necessarily the same person although often they hit both categories!)

I've done this stuff for 20 years and am well enough tuned in on the way it works to do it. I have never been someone who jumps up and down on a "look at me look at me" basis when I ban people, warn people or delete posts. But it happens and those impacted know about it. Even the said poster and the facebook abuse was politely told that they were not welcome to post on any site under my name, I was clear and concise (and polite) in how I handled it - my Dad taught me well on that front, god bless his soul.

For most of those 20 years (In fact all of them as scfc pre-dates us) there have been at least 2 Swansea sites running and always have these things happened. I do believe some of what happens now is blown out of all proportion but that happens because of what I referenced earlier, those who claim to want to help its stop fuel it just as much because of personal vendettas and therefore wait for something to happen that can fuel it rather than just - well kind of getting on with life really.

Anyway this was designed to be a quick one but I am more than capable of a ramble as many will testify but hope it clears the position. For now consider the thread locked, I should remember to delete it in the morning.

And one final question - why do people when they post behind a VPN always use "Netherlands" - go for maybe Malawi, it at least varies it up and makes it slightly harder for people to spot
