Liam Cullen

Liam gives us something different up front and I'd have brought him on much sooner against Coventry as it had been clear as day for most of the game that our front 2 were completely isolated from the midfield. He makes runs through and behind defences and provided his teammates spot the runs and feed him the ball, he can cause defenders problems. The goal against Brum was the perfect example. Yesterday, everything was happening in front of the Coventry defence which made it too easy for them. It took a long ball over the top to set Ashby on his way behind his marker to get an inch perfect cross in for Yates to score but that was one of the few times we got behind them with serious intent. Cullen is always looking to make those runs but ideally we still need a proper #10 to find him and others up front. In a slightly different system, he could be very useful so not surprised other clubs may have noticed that.
