Genuine pace throughout the side is our biggest need, but I certainly wouldn't turn down a consistent threat in both creating and scoring.

Cullen has done well in recent weeks. In recent years he's been found sorely wanting. Long term form suggests more than short term to me. If we can improve then we must.
It's certainly not the norm for a player to suddenly blossom at 25, but it's not unheard of. Perhaps Liam is just enjoying an extended purple patch of form, but I'm going to be optimistic and believe something has clicked and this is the player he is now.

I'm more concerned that having spent decent money on Bianchini, Eom, Ronald, and MPH, our best wide player may still be Ginnelly (if he can come back the same player after injury, which admittedly is beginning to seem unlikely).

MPH is a midfielder. Not a winger. LW playing him there despite having other options is an issue.

I wouldn't really say that Bianchini or Eom are best out there either. Ronald is certainly better cutting in from the left rather than the right, and should never be asked to do otherwise. I hope Ginnelly recovers full fitness and lives up to his promise.

I can't fault Cullen on his recent performances, but he's still well in the negative column overall. He's played as a central striker and just in behind one since Martin's first season and this recent stint is the first time he hasn't looked hopelessly out of place. I'd want more than a month's worth of performances before I decide that he's the answer there.

This is the best he's ever been, and even then he's done alright to ok.. 5,000+ minutes and only this last month he's shown he looks like a footballer

Certainly the best he is playing.
Guy has got 9 and 7 goals in previous seasons, it's not fantastic for a striker but certainly OK for a no 10.
He will do the job there and a better winger and Striker will highlight Liam even further.

It's just getting that winger and Striker 🙈
